English version of this article:
“The ‘Xiansong’ Farce Must End Now”
A netizen known as "Xiansong" is rapidly gaining notoriety within the MF community. This rise in “fame” has nothing to do with creative contributions, but stems instead from repeated violations of community rules, persistent acts of infringement, astonishing communication breakdowns, and ongoing harassment. From his early days in resource groups pestering others for unreleased works and project files, to now openly releasing so-called “creations” made with suspicious source files likely obtained through decompilation, his conduct has long surpassed the realm of normal creative disputes and become a threat to the community atmosphere.
Despite being clearly informed in resource groups that “possession of project files requires the author’s permission,” this individual repeatedly claimed “XXX author has granted permission,” in an attempt to mislead others into sharing private files. His chaotic communication and absurd logic have long fallen outside the bounds of rational discussion.
Worse still, Xiansong has recently been exposed multiple times for publishing “works” that include assets from unauthorized sources—such as the project file for Lunar New Year 2022. The removal of such posts by the community is a necessary act to uphold the baseline of our shared values. The public statement issued by content creator WSW speaks for many others who have poured their effort into original work.
It must be made clear: behind such infringement lies a festering gray zone. Files never released by their creators are circulating through shady channels—and these are the true breeding grounds of such violations. Some users openly share unverified .mfa files in group chats and cloud storage, while those in charge of these groups turn a blind eye, even enabling further spread. Let us be unequivocal: unpublished project files are not “open-source resources.” Distributing them without consent is not “learning” or “sharing,” but a direct act of corrosion against the creative ecosystem. Such actions demoralize original creators, erode foundational trust, and plunge the entire community into prolonged anxiety over authorship. Ask yourselves: if your own work were decompiled, dismantled, and rebranded under someone else’s name, could you just sit by in silence? Would you willingly see your labor reduced to someone else’s “asset library”? This toxic behavior must not be tolerated, and the source must be cut off at the root.
Regrettably, much of the public’s interaction with Xiansong has descended into absurdity. A few netizens, treating him as mere entertainment, have baited him in private chats and even fabricated fake group screenshots to provoke reactions. On the surface, such behavior may seem like harmless fun—but in truth, it only fuels the fire. Mocking someone with communication difficulties as a “cyber pet” enables the farce to persist, giving him the stage to repeatedly post infringing content, harass other users, and even attempt to participate in legitimate creative events—causing discomfort and difficulty for organizers and participants alike.
The drama surrounding Xiansong is no laughing matter. It reflects not only one individual’s disregard for the rules, but also the unsavory encouragement of bystanders. This situation is not accidental, but the inevitable result of continued indulgence and the erosion of boundaries.
We call on all members of the community, and anyone reading this post: do not share project files, assets, or information channels with Xiansong. At the same time, cease any interactions rooted in mockery, provocation, or mischief—such behavior does nothing to resolve the issue and only deepens the chaos.
This farce centered around “Xiansong” must come to an end. Respect for rules and appreciation for others’ labor are the very foundation on which the MF community continues to thrive. Any behavior that undermines this foundation—no matter what guise it takes—has no place here. Don’t let the farce drag on. This community needs no more idle spectators, and certainly no more vicious cycles of infringement, indulgence, and ridicule. |
